What is the proper spacing for bare root roses?Updated 8 months ago
As a general rule, we recommend a 3-foot plant spacing in any growing zone. This spacing allows your plants to receive good airflow and allows you to clip blooms efficiently. However, garden roses can be planted 2-4 feet apart depending on the variety, growing zone, and growing goals.
To decide the ideal spacing between plants, first review the variety's height and spread. You'll find this information on the Details tab of each bare root rose product page. Next, consider the aesthetic you are going for - do you want the roses close together or farther apart? If you're growing roses for cut flower production, make sure to leave space to harvest your blooms.
