What should I do when my bare root rose arrives?Updated 9 months ago

Upon receipt of your box, open and inspect your rose for any damage immediately. Your bare root rose will arrive dormant with no soil or leaves, boxed and in a plastic bag. Shipping in a plastic bag ensures the canes and roots remain moist in transit. You may think it is not alive but we promise it's just taking its winter nap.

It is normal to see minor root and cane breakage as well as some dirt & soil on the roots. If you believe there is a problem with your rose on arrival of your order you must notify us within 72 hours of delivery. Visit our Returns Center to start a return/exchange request. We recommend taking clear photos or videos of any issues of the rose or packaging to help expedite the process. DO NOT plant your rose if you believe there is a quality issue with it.

If you're not ready to plant your rose after unboxing, wrap and tie it back in the plastic bag it came in, close the box and leave it in a dark, cool location like a basement or garage for up to seven days at a temperature of 35-42 degrees. DO NOT leave it outside if the temperature is below freezing or on a warm sunny kitchen table. For detailed instructions on how to properly store your rose, visit this article.
